New Holland Displayed Its Advanced Braud 9080L Grape Harvester at the International Trade Fair for the Mechanization of This Sector

LUGANO, SWITZERLAND--(Marketwire - October 4, 2012) - New Holland Agriculture showcased its innovative Braud 9080L -- the first grape harvester to be presented in the country -- at the CIAME Show 2012 held from September 25th to 27th at the International Exhibition Center in Shenyang, Northeast of China.

The CIAME, China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, is the largest international agricultural machinery show in Asia, with an attendance of over 100,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors for this year's edition.

New Holland's presentation of the ingenious Braud 9080L is testimony to the company's leading expertise in the grape harvesting industry and the ability to provide advanced solutions in the mechanization of this sector. The self-propelled grape harvester was also seen by Mr. Zhang Taolin, the vice minister for China's Ministry of Agriculture, who visited the New Holland stand.

As one of the world's biggest grape and wine producers, China presents enormous potential for mechanization in this industry.

The New Holland Braud 9080L offers Chinese growers unequalled opportunities to develop their business in a sustainable way, maximizing productivity and delivering the highest harvest quality while benefitting from cost efficiency and operator comfort.

New Holland grape harvesters are complemented by a full range of agricultural equipment, from tractors and combine harvesters to till balers and hay and forage tools, to serve any customer's requirement.

Today, New Holland is a world leader in grape harvesting technology with a long standing tradition of innovation and excellence rooted in the history of the agricultural and grape industry. Its Braud grape harvesters are the preferred choice of wine makers around the world.

Braud grape and olive harvesters hold the global leading position in their segment, offering the most advanced solutions available in the market today.

Superior harvesting quality

Braud grape harvesters have been recognized for their superior harvesting quality since their first introduction over 30 years ago. Today, the Braud 9000L Series takes advantage of this legacy with the innovative SDC shaking system which is universally recognised as the best picking technology. Each shaking rod is independent and secured at the rear on a maintenance free flexible fixing. This fixing allows perfect control of the shaker action with maximum flexibility for soft picking. These shaking rods can be quickly and easily deactivated according to the yield and guarantee full respect for the fruit and the plant.

More power, more performance, less fuel

The Braud 9080L is part of the New Holland Braud 9000L Series, which comprises four models to suit medium, large, and extra large vineyards' needs.

The 9000L Series ranges from 141hp to 175hp, with 4- or 6-cylinder displacement and common rail electronic engines developed by FPT Industrial, a sister company that is also a part of Fiat Industrial. These engines deliver unmatched performance and economy and feature the Intelligent Management System, which has won multiple awards.

This feature allows the engine speed rate to be set up by the electronic controls and continuously adjusted by the machine itself, with reduced fuel consumption.

For example, at the end of a rowwhen the operator switches off the shakers and the fans, the machine slows down the engine speed rate to save fuel. These power performances are ideally complemented by the hydraulic transmission with Anti-skid, giving more traction control and climb capability on slopes and in wet soil conditions.

Multi-functionality for all-year round productivity

The Braud 9000L Series models are designed to carry out vineyard operations all year round, from pre-pruning to grape harvesting. The picking head can be easily coupled and uncoupled by one person without special tools, while the front carrier can be fitted quickly with implements, including trimmer, pre-pruner, leaf-remover or spraying implements to meet the multifunction expectations of grape growers in every season.

Ultimate comfort, enhanced safety

The cabs are suspended, soundproofed, ventilated, pressurized, waterproof, heated and air-conditioned. The narrow steering column increases the visibility while the seat provides operators with first-class comfort, allowing them to face even the longest harvesting days with full peace-of-mind.

True ease of operation

The Intelliview(tm) III in-cab touch screen monitor can display and set up all the machine functions by means of several customizable pages. Fully ISO BUS compatible, it can be used to operate a range of multifunction equipment and sprayers. This eliminates the need for a separate control and reduces the time to switch between jobs.

Fast washing, easy servicing

The 9000L Series picking head has been designed to reduce washing time dramatically. A semi-automatic washing system is available as an option. All the harvester head's greasing points have been grouped together into one single point. An automatic greasing system is available as an option. This Series comes with long servicing intervals of 600 hours.

New Holland, a long history of expertise in grape harvesting

New Holland and Braud have become synonymous with excellence in grape harvesting technology. Braud first opened its doors back in 1870 when Alexandre Braud founded his own company. Almost a century later, the world's first self-propelled grape harvester rolled off the production line in 1975, revolutionizing the world of grape harvesting. In over 35 years, New Holland specialist teams have designed, fine-tuned, produced and delivered more than 13,000 grape harvesters throughout the world, setting today's benchmark in terms of productivity, harvesting quality and multi-functionality.
